The Shire Pipes Riders of Rohan Smoking Pipe is an officially licensed The Lord of the Rings churchwarden inspired by the Rohirrim, the legendary horsemen of Rohan. Measuring an impressive 15 inches long, this distinctive pipe combines a short, substantial pot-style cherry wood bowl with an embellished aluminum stem and acrylic saddle mouthpiece.
Horse-head knotwork engraved into the bowl celebrates the equestrian identity of Rohan, while decorative detailing along the metal stem gives the pipe a more ornate appearance than a traditional all-wood churchwarden. The result is a functional smoking pipe with the dramatic proportions and collectible detailing expected from Shire Pipes' Middle-earth collection.
The Riders of Rohan is part of Shire Pipes' officially licensed The Lord of the Rings collection. Its design draws inspiration from the Rohirrim, the mounted warriors of Rohan whose horses, armor, and loyalty play an important role throughout the story.
Measuring approximately 15 inches long, the Riders of Rohan is one of the more imposing churchwarden designs in the Shire Pipes lineup. The extended stem creates the long, sweeping profile associated with traditional churchwarden pipes while giving the detailed metalwork plenty of room to stand out.
Shire Pipes classifies this model as a Pot / Churchwarden. The short, thick pot-style bowl creates a substantial appearance at the front of the pipe and provides a strong visual counterbalance to the unusually long stem.
The cherry wood bowl features a detailed trinity-knot design with emerging horse heads. The artwork directly references the horse culture of Rohan and gives the pipe a distinctive Middle-earth identity without relying on oversized character graphics.
Unlike a traditional all-wood churchwarden, the Riders of Rohan features an embellished aluminum stem. Decorative metal detailing extends along the length of the pipe and creates a striking contrast with the natural cherry wood bowl.
The long metal stem finishes with an acrylic saddle-style mouthpiece. Its flatter profile provides a traditional pipe-style finish while completing the multi-material construction of the Riders of Rohan.
The pot-style bowl measures approximately 1.85" across the exterior, 0.77" internally, and 1.30" deep. Its broad exterior and deep chamber give the pipe a substantial front profile while maintaining useful capacity for longer sessions.
The Riders of Rohan combines three different materials to create its distinctive design: a cherry wood bowl, aluminum stem, and acrylic mouthpiece. This combination separates it visually from more traditional single-material churchwardens while reinforcing its ornate fantasy styling.
The pipe includes both one charcoal filter and one metal filter. These supplied filter components give you the matching accessories provided by Shire Pipes for maintaining and configuring the pipe.
In addition to the supplied filters, the Riders of Rohan includes three bowl screens, one combination poker and tamper tool, and three pipe cleaners. These accessories provide the basics needed for bowl setup and routine maintenance of the long churchwarden airway.
Shire Pipes presents the Riders of Rohan in branded gift-ready packaging. Combined with its officially licensed design, engraved horse imagery, and dramatic 15-inch profile, it makes a strong display piece or gift for a Lord of the Rings collector.
