Cap Armor is designed as a modular alternative to a one-piece high-mass cap. The separate precision-machined stainless steel sleeve clicks onto a compatible Captive Cap, allowing you to keep using the Cap you already know while adding extra mass and thermal performance.
The added stainless steel mass helps the Captive Cap retain heat for longer. This smooths out the heating process, extends the usable heat cycle, and gives you greater control over extraction without requiring a completely different Cap system.
With the added thermal mass of Cap Armor, full extractions can be achieved in approximately 1–2 heat cycles. The longer thermal window makes it easier to maintain useful heat through the draw while reducing the need for repeated reheating.
Cap Armor is designed to simplify torch heating by adding enough thermal mass that you do not need to continuously rotate the device while heating. This can make the heating process easier and more repeatable, especially for users who prefer torch-powered DynaVap sessions.
Cap Armor is engineered to snap securely over the upper crimp area of a compatible Captive Cap. Its press-fit design adds mass while maintaining the Cap’s adjustability and airflow characteristics.
Cap Armor is intended for use with DynaVap Captive Caps that are in good condition. It is not recommended for damaged, dented, coated, or certain specialty Caps because the press-fit sleeve relies on the proper Captive Cap geometry for secure installation.

Do not use Cap Armor with Non-Captive Caps, dented Caps, PVD-coated Caps, or Special Edition engraved Caps. These Caps may have different surface finishes or geometry that make them unsuitable for the press-fit design.
For installation, place a compatible Captive Cap on an assembled DynaVap device. Gently press the Captive Cap into the Cap Armor until you hear an audible click. The click indicates that the sleeve has seated over the Cap’s upper crimp area.
Remove Cap Armor while the Cap is installed on a Tip. Hold the digger-outer with your thumb against the Tip, then gently wiggle and pull the Cap Armor away from the Captive Cap. This allows the two components to separate without excessive force.
Do not push the Captive Cap out from the top of the Cap Armor. Doing so may dent the Cap.
Cap Armor is a modular sleeve that upgrades a compatible Captive Cap you already own. The DynaVap Armored Cap, by comparison, combines a Captive Cap and high-mass stainless steel casing as a complete cap assembly. Cap Armor is ideal for users who want additional thermal mass while keeping the flexibility of a separate Captive Cap.
Because Cap Armor uses a press-fit design, minor dents or impressions may appear on the upper crimp area of the Captive Cap. This is considered normal and does not affect the function of either component.
