The Shire Pipes Mines of Moria Smoking Pipe is an officially licensed The Lord of the Rings design inspired by the ancient Dwarven kingdom of Khazad-dûm. Measuring approximately 5.5 inches long, this compact Dublin-style pipe combines a cherry wood bowl with a dark ebony finish, straight acrylic stem, and detailed engravings inspired by the riches, craftsmanship, and history of the Mines of Moria.
A crown, gemstones, hammer, and anvil decorate the bowl, referencing the Dwarven kings, precious minerals, and legendary forges associated with Khazad-dûm. The shorter straight-pipe profile makes the Mines of Moria more compact than a traditional churchwarden while retaining the collectible Middle-earth styling that defines the Shire Pipes collection.
The Mines of Moria is part of Shire Pipes' officially licensed The Lord of the Rings collection. Its design draws directly from the Dwarven realm of Khazad-dûm and the symbols associated with its ancient kings, mines, and forges.
Shire Pipes classifies the Mines of Moria as a Dublin-style pipe. Its streamlined 5.5-inch body combines a tall tapered bowl with a straight stem, creating a traditional silhouette in a much more compact format than the longer churchwarden models in the collection.
The bowl is crafted from cherry wood and finished in a dark ebony tone. The deep finish reinforces the underground Moria theme while creating strong contrast against the engraved symbols decorating the bowl.
Detailed engravings distinguish this model from a traditional Dublin pipe. The design includes a crown representing the ancient kings of Khazad-dûm, gemstones representing the riches beneath the mountain, and hammer and anvil imagery symbolizing Dwarven craftsmanship and forging.
These motifs draw inspiration from imagery associated with the Doors of Durin, the legendary western entrance into Moria.
The Mines of Moria uses a straight acrylic stem with a tapered mortise-and-tenon connection and pinched mouthpiece. The acrylic construction complements the cherry wood bowl while allowing the stem to be separated for easier cleaning and maintenance.
Despite its compact overall length, the Mines of Moria has a substantial chamber measuring approximately 1.40" deep. The bowl measures around 1.43" across the exterior and 0.68" internally, giving the pipe useful capacity while maintaining its streamlined Dublin proportions.
The pipe includes a metal filter along with three bowl screens. These components give you options for configuring and maintaining the airway while keeping the pipe ready for regular use.
Shire Pipes includes several useful accessories with the Mines of Moria. Along with the metal filter and bowl screens, the set includes a combination poker and tamper tool, three pipe cleaners, and a drawstring storage pouch.
The compact size, detailed engravings, official licensing, and dark Moria-inspired finish make this pipe well suited to both functional use and display. Shire Pipes also presents the model in branded gift packaging, adding to its appeal for Lord of the Rings collectors and Tolkien fans.
