Dabber tools come in three different types. The “paddle” is most versatile, allowing easy handling of many types of concentrates. The “scoop” is suited to liquids like a concentrate oil and the “pick” makes it easy to break up crystallized forms like “shatter” or “crumble.”

Use your dab tool to pick up a small amount of your favored concentrate. Apply it to the heated nail or banger; as it melts it will slide off the dabber and begin to vaporize in your dab rig. Then you can take a hit.
Some like to briefly heat their dabber tools to help release any stuck concentrate. But a regular routine of wiping down your dabber with isopropyl alcohol will keep it clean. Some soak their dab tool in alcohol for 30 minutes to loosen tough residue; avoid getting alcohol on the handles.
Heat your nail or banger, then let it cool for 30 or so seconds. Use your dabber tool to scoop your desired amount of wax concentrate onto the banger. As it vaporizes, slowly inhale the vapor through the mouthpiece of your dab rig.
